Jürgen Peere

My name is Jürgen Peere, I am from Belgium (West-Flanders) and have been diving since 1991. Since 2007 I have a dive shop in Bruges. 2007 is also the year I started diving with rebreathers. This, of course, made the dives longer. And due to the nature of the water (read cold water) in our region, it is not always pleasant to do these long and deep dives.

I have been using my Thermalution Yellow Grade Plus vest for about 5 years. It is used under a dry suit and works perfectly with the remote control on top of the suit. The Thermalution also allows me to get rid of the thick undersuits, which is quite pleasant. One thing that distinguishes Thermalution from other heating systems is that I do not need to carry extra lead with me, as it has no buoyancy. Another difference is that other systems only heat the outside of the diver by acting like a kind of electric blanket, whereas Thermalution's infrared really radiates into the body and is super pleasant.

Me and my buddies regularly go on diving trips to colder waters, like last year to Malin Head in Ireland. There we spent a week diving on deep wrecks. These wrecks are all between -60m and -120m. During the long decompression stops of around 2-3 hours, the Thermalution came in very handy. The controller also has no problem with greater depths. It just keeps on working.

During the dives on the North Sea off the Belgian coast, the Thermalution is always taken along to be used during the decompression stops. I always put the vest on during the dives, it does not take up any space and I am sure that I am always ahead of the cold.

Due to the nature of the technology used by Thermalution, namely infrared, it is particularly pleasant to feel the heat during long dives. I am also convinced that it will benefit my health in the long run.
